AGRF 2017: Growing Inclusive Economies and Jobs through Agriculture

The African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF), the platform for global and African leaders uniting continental and global heavy weights, is uniting in Ivory Cost since September, towards one goal: transforming Africa’s agriculture. The theme for the seventh “2017” AGRF is “Accelerating Africa’s Path to Prosperity: Growing Inclusive Economies and Jobs through Agriculture”.

The AGRF was established in 2010, in order to develop actionable plans that will move African agriculture forward. The Forum has emerged as Africa’s premier platform that brings together a range of critical stakeholders in the African agriculture landscape to discuss and develop concrete plans for achieving the green revolution in Africa.

After Seizing the Moment at AGRF 2016 and securing political, policy, and financial commitments of more than US $30 billion, African leaders must move decisively to harness this surge of support for agriculture and ensure it creates jobs and drives economic growth across the continent—particularly for 300 million young Africans coming into the job market over the next 15 years. This years Forum was launched in Abidjan on September 4th, and will end on September 8th, 2017.

At this meeting, a statement will also be made to all African leaders on policies, support, partnerships and strategies. It will be a striking statement that spans several sectors and provides a forum, progress and commitments for the future.
