IROKO, the world’s leading online African content distributor and the largest Internet TV operator in Africa, has launched a channel devoted to Nigerian music and entertainment on LES BOUQUETS CANAL +.
The Nigerian music industry is booming, and one of the most dynamic in the world. This market, which weighed 47 million USD in 2015, should almost double by 2020 to reach 86 million USD.
IROKO which was launched in December 2010, in the form of a YouTube channel, NollywoodLove, later developed a movie theater platform: www.irokotv.com. The channel now broadcasts the most successful Afrobeats in Nigeria, all over French-speaking Africa. It also broadcasts clips from internationally renowned Afrobeats artists such as Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, P-Square, Runtown, Yemi Alade and Davido. IROKOMUSIC also plans to program rising stars of this musical scene. This decision is part of the ambition of the IROKO group to address a market of several million viewers.
In addition to the music content, IROKOMUSIC offers scripted and non-scripted content created by the Nigerian cinema studio ROK Studios, rewarded several times for its productions.
With this launch on LES BOUQUETS CANAL +, IROKOMUSIC hopes to seduce more than 2.6 million subscribers in 26 countries of French-speaking Africa.
