Using love and media to fight human trafficking

“I am a treasure, please don’t sell me”

More than 50% of trafficked victims are exploited sexually. Women and girls are the majority.

Africa has raised an international faith-based, media driven non-profit organisation, which works at reducing human trafficking globally using media & film.

MeCAHT (Media Campaigns Against Human Trafficking) operates in Nigeria, South Africa & has a number of partners in Europe & the USA.

MeCAHT uses films & school programs to bring awareness to local communities. This is to educate and hopefully prevent further victims falling prey to human trafficking. Counselling is also provided for the rescued victims.

You may wonder what happens to them after being rescued. Post care includes job creation & job training for the survivors, as well as safe housing in Nigeria if need be.

Training is offered to businesses, individuals, law enforcers & educators, to help them handle and even identify victims in their areas.

Human trafficking requires us to work together to not only help the victims, but also work in softening the hearts of those initiating the crimes. That can only be done through unconditional love & support.

We as a continent, are equipped enough to stand up and fight for those affected by human trafficking, without waiting on the rest of the world to help us.
