Mobius Motors a car made in Kenya and adapted to the road conditions.
The star-up was established by Joel Jackson, a British computer science graduate who was inspired by his experiences in rural Kenya.
Investors: Chandaria Group, a Kenyan diversified group of companies (Darshan Chandaria, CEO) and US billionaire Ronald Lauder through the PanAfrican Investment Co., LLC.
The plant is located in Thika, a town outside Nairobi. At US$11,000 it is the lowest priced new vehicle in Kenya.
In the next five years Mobius Motors plans to grow its business across East Africa, and then aims to becoming “one of the leading manufacturers and distributors of vehicles in Africa.
