In this animated film, which takes place in 1916, Adama, a 12-year-old boy from West Africa, sets off in search of his missing brother, Samba, visibly enrolled in the French army. His journey will take him to the front in Verdun, France, where one of the bloodiest battles of this war was played.
The actor Azize Diabaté, already spotted in La Cité Rose, is the voice of Adama alongside actors Pascal Nzozi (What did we do to the good Lord?), Jack M’ba and the rapper Oxmo Puccino who also lend their voices to the film.
Produced by Naïa Productions and the animation studios Pipangaï, the release of the film is scheduled for October 21st. Behind the narrative, screenwriter Julien Lilti and director Simon Rouby.
Adama met with a great success with the international buyers at the last festival of Cannes and is in the running to win a Crystal at the animation festival of Annecy.
