A metro line to arrive in Abidjan with 1st line: Anyama – Port-Bouët

Côte d’Ivoire and the Abidjan Railway Transport Company (STAR) signed an agreement in Abidjan to provide Abidjan, the Ivorian economic capital, with a metro by 2020.

Line 1 of the Abidjan metro, about 40 km long, will link the municipality of Anyama (suburbs north of Abidjan) with that of Port-Bouët to the international airport Félix Houphouët -Boigny (to the south), through the communes of Abobo, Adjamé, Plateau, Treichville, Marcory and Koumassi.

The execution of this project will last 5.5 years. Phase 1 of the project is scheduled for completion in October 2019, followed by the global phase in October 2020.

The founding shareholders of Star are constituted by a group of Franco-Korean companies including Bouygues Travaux Publics, DTP, Dongsan engineering, Hyundai Rotem and Keolis.
