The Cameroonian Ministry of Commerce and the incumbent telecom operator Camtel have just signed a partnership agreement with a view to collaborating in the animation of Cameroon’s agropastoral portal Camagro, launched a few months ago by Camtel. This portal aims to enable consumers and traders to compare the prices of food products on the market, in order to be able to make a better decision of sale or purchase.
The Department of Commerce will provide Camtel with the necessary database to drive the platform. An SMS sending device will be set up to serve areas that do not have an internet connection to access the platform.
