William Elong, the young Cameroonian who manufactures drones made in Cameroon

Revolutionizing Africa with drones, why not? It is the ambition of William Elong, young entrepreneur from Cameroon and founder of Will & Brothers, a start-up that produces drones in Cameroon.

His journey
Bachelor at fifteen, William Elong is the youngest graduate in Strategy and Economic Intelligence of the School of Economic War of Paris. After a time spent working for big companies in France, he founded the start-up Will & Brothers, specialized in consulting in economic intelligence and technological innovation, and returned to Cameroon.

William is currently developing DroneAfrica, an initiative to offer services associated with drones in tourism, agriculture, meteorology, defense and cartography. In 2016, William Elong was ranked 7th in the top 30 of Africa’s most promising young entrepreneurs of the year.

Drone Africa“Cameroon’s first civilian drone service”

The DroneAfrica application, which offers “the first civilian drone service” in Cameroon, is one of William’s flagship projects. It is based on a drone equipped with a miniaturized camera that can be remotely controlled and capture new images.

“Reducing mapping costs for Africans”

African countries are dependent on certain providers to obtain aerial images at very high prices. For William, drones are therefore a simpler solution to meet this need. DroneAfrica offers services to companies and government organizations that can reduce mapping costs by more than 50%.

DroneAfrica promotes local tourism, low-cost tracking for mining projects and urban development; more effective coverage of major events such as fairs, cultural events or football tournaments; the collection of images in disaster-stricken areas, etc. ”

Funding of $ 200,000 (CFAF 124 million) has already been raised for the production of drones “made in Cameroon”.
