Hollywood Actor Michael Jai White enstooled Chief in Ghana

“American actor and martial artist, Michael Jai White, has been enstooled as ” Ohene” (king) of Akwamu in Ghana. He now holds the traditional title of “Nana Akoto III, Odopon” (The Tree with Strong Roots That Does Not Fear The Storm).

On his Instagram page, the actor posted the video of him being enstooled, and wrote how much of an honor it was for him to be a part of the Akwamu of Ghana:

All this happened during Michael’s trip to Ghana’s ‘Full Circle Festival’ hosted by fellow actor Boris Kodjoe. 2019 marks 400 years since the beginning of the transatlantic slave trade, and Ghanaian president Nana Akufo Addo called upon all africans from the diaspora to return to The Mother Land.

Born on November 10, 1967 in Brooklyn New York, Michael Jai White is an American actor and martial artist. His first major starring role and breakout performance was in the 1995 Tyson, were he portrayed boxer Mike Tyson.
