iflix the Asian subscription video-on-demand service focused on emerging markets, has announced announced the launch of their video streaming service in Ghana.

Iflix is now live in Ghana, and will hopefully offer residents of Ghana world class entertainment on the go. The company has been growing in the past years. Earlier in 2017, it raised and closed on a funding round of $90 million from Liberty Global and Zain. In 2015, the company had aleardy raised $30 million in funding from EMC and Catcha group.

What does Iflix have to offer?

According to Abner Briandt, Country Manager in Ghana, iflix will be offering the most diversified SVoD content portfolio in Africa. It will also offer a good mix of Hollywood, Ghallywood and Nollywood movies and TV shows. Ghana subscribers will enjoy Ghanaian dramas and variety shows, such as African Tales-Bleeding heart, Wo Taa Ta Me, Bitter Chocolate, Rainstorm, Almighty and many more.

The platform will also have a dedicated kids section, download and watch later feature, pause or rewind, watch on multiple devices (phone, tablet, laptop, desktop or TV).

The company promisses to offer very affordable prices, and is primed to revolutionise the way residents of Ghana consume entertainment. A month’s subscription for users in Ghana will cost $2.40 (GHC 10.75). An annual subscription to iflix Ghana will come in at a discounted $19.40 (GHC 86).
