“Americanah” by Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, soon a movie ?

The novel “Americanah” by the famous Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie might soon be adapted to cinema. Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o has acquired adaptation rights.

Lupita Nyong’O has acquired the rights to adapt Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s award-winning novel Americanah’s, which could be produced by Brad Pitt. The novelist also announced that Lupita Nyong’o should probably take the role of Ifemelu, her heroine. As for the role of Obinze, the novelist blew the name of the British actor David Oyelowo.

Released in 2013 and translated into French in 2015 by Anne Damour, the book “Americanah” is the third novel by the Nigerian author. The book follows the adventures of Ifemelu, a Nigerian girl who left her homeland to study in the United States. An experience that confronts her with racism and discrimination.

Summary
